Heirloom Furniture Below are just a few samples of the several projects we have done over the years... This is a Cape Dutch Server made of solid walnut and maple. It is traditionally used next to the diningroom table to serve food and drinks from instead of overloading the table.
Typical Cape Victorian leg design, turned and finished without machine marks.
The drawer fronts are dovetailed to the rails and glide on Burmese teak(this wood contains its own oil for lubrication) guides. The drawers fit precisely into the table frame.
All solid walnut and maple, no veneers, particle board or mdf(medium density fibre board)ensuring the server becoming an heirloom.
Accurate dovetails in the carcase construction.
A solid(top, bottom construction etc.),dovetailed, unstained maple table that's been hand rubbed with urethane, sanded and waxed. Only maple wood was used throughout.
This solid maple table has three legs, ensuring its stability on any surface
The stem is bolted to the structure of solid maple supports.
The skirt is of solid band-sawn maple, not bent plywood with a thin maple veneer.
Sliding dovetail joints secure the legs to the stem and a brass plate screwed on to the legs and stem at the bottom prevents it from splaying.
All solid maple underneath
The skirt being band-sawn to the required thickness |
