Below are a few examples of the custom Music Stands that we have built over the years. They have become our specialty!


The Sautille Stand

Note the thick,solid brass escutchion that prevents the stem from splitting in the event of the stand falling over

Note the brass plate at the bottom of the stand securing the legs to the stem, preventing splaying in case undue pressure is placed on the stand.

Note the frame supporting the front of the desk which is cut from a solid piece of maple.

The desk adjusting mechanism with baroque violin peg.
    • Available in any designated hard wood. Examples: Mahogany, Maple, Walnut, Cherry etc. 
    • The stem is drilled in its entire length allowing the desk to fully extend for standing and sitting whilst reading the music.
    • The desk which is scroll-sawed from solid  wood( no plywood) ,is glued to a solid frame with lapped and mitred joints, fully rakes for those positions.
    • The legs are fitted to the stem by sliding dovetail joints. 
    • The pin for the desk sliding up and down inside the stem is of solid brass tubing.
    • Finishing is affected by hand rubbing with tung oil-urethane and waxed.

The Pizzicato Stand

This Cuban Mahogany sells for $550.. There are no veneers or manmade materials. The brass stem is solid thickwalled brass tubing. The escutcheon is of solid brass. The peg at the rear, maintaining  the hight adjustment is of rosewood. The desk is a quarter inch slab of solid Cuban Mahogany. Cuban Mahogany is presently virtually unobtainable and sells for more than $35 per board foot.
